Our current student administrative systems are at the end of their lives. They were designed for a different time when we were a smaller, simpler institution and have grown increasingly fragile. WebSTAC, the system our students use to register for courses, was built in 1996 (well before most of our students were born). And the technology on which it was built is defunct, making it difficult to secure and support. This has led to an ever-growing number of disparate systems and workarounds for collecting, storing and reporting data, which also makes it difficult for us to confirm accuracy of the information. The transition to Workday Student will improve our ability to integrate data, report and complete necessary analyses.
