How do students choose the grading basis for a specific course?

When students enroll in their course, they will have the opportunity to choose from the allowed grading bases if the course has multiple grading bases available. Some courses will only have one grading basis available and students will not be able to change that basis. For example, some courses may be required to be taken as pass/no pass, and the student would not be able to choose another option. Students will also be able to use the “edit course” function to change the grading basis after they are enrolled in a course assuming the class has multiple grading bases, and they are within the appropriate deadlines related to grading basis changes.
