In February 2025, Workday Student will become WashU’s official system for advising. To help you prepare for transition, we’ve outlined a few key updates and actions to take this fall. While we anticipate some bumps along the way, you can take steps to make the transition smoother.
Understand what’s changing
Workday Student Sneak Peeks
If you didn’t attend the Workday Student Sneak Peek webinars that have been happening since January 2024, now is a great time to catch up. The recorded sessions and Q&As offer essential insights into how you and your students will use Workday. Visit the Sneak Peeks page to access the resources from previous sessions.
New course numbers
As part of the Workday Student rollout, the university has renumbered all courses offered Fall 2025 onward to a four-digit format. A mapping table is now available to show how current course numbers will appear when students are planning for registration this spring for Fall 2025 classes.
Engaging students
The Student Sunrise project has been promoting the transition from WebSTAC to Workday with students through events and marketing materials. You can help your advisees prepare for the changes ahead by encouraging them to visit sunrise.wustl.edu/students for all the latest information.
You can also download resources from Box to use with students this fall during your advising appointments or in other communications. We sent these materials, which include talking points and email templates, to all academic and faculty advisors the first week of October; anyone who works with students is welcome to use them.
Mark your calendar for Mock enRoll
Plan to attend a Mock enRoll event in November. Encourage those you advise to attend so they can rock their transition to Workday Student. This will be a fun opportunity to practice Workday Student in a hands-on setting prior to your instructor-led training, which begins in late January.
Advising notes migration
If you use WebAdvising to make notes, you need to act now to ensure that notes you want available in Workday are migrated. Visit the Advisors page for details; this page also includes information about how advising notes from other systems will be migrated.
Training and resources
Instructor-led training for advising and advising cohort management will begin in January, with registration opening in December. Additionally, you have access to eLearnings, tutorials and more that you can review any time, including before Mock enRoll.
Visit the Training & Support for Advisors page for details.
